Hey Folks,
After some deliberation, we’ve decided to make a few changes to our annual charity marathon; for starters, we’re probably going to change the name (more on that at a later date). We’re also changing the timing to mid-February, so that it doesn’t coincide with Christmas, university exam periods, etc. The next marathon will therefore be held from Noon on Feb. 14th, 2013 to Midnight on Feb. 16th, 2013
Primarily though, we’re trying to streamline things, make it more professional, and include more people. With that in mind, we have created applications for 3 possible marathon positions, and we welcome anyone interested to apply. These positions are as follows:
- Primary Player – A player who will be available for the entirety of the marathon, and who can be voted on by the viewers.
- Secondary Player – A player who will be available for at least part of the marathon, and will be on hand to fill seats not taken by Primary Players.
- Commander – Crew members who will be responsible for watching the camera feeds and interacting with viewers via char and social media.
We are looking in particular for Commanders, as we always end up lacking in that department, so if you have some time available during the marathon period and are willing to help out in this capacity, we would greatly appreciate it.
The applications for each position are linked to below. Please read through the requirements listed, and if you are interested in applying fill out the attached form.

Inquiring minds want to know, How much money would it take to fund a single player for the full 62 hours?
Well, the short answer is, it depends.
Whenever a new game starts, players are selected according to how close they are to the next level, which is measured in percent. Because level is synonymous here with consecutive games played, this means that with every game in a row a player plays in, it takes more money to fill up the bar. Since players are ranked against one another using this scale, how much money it takes to get a player to keep playing really depends on how many games they’ve already played, and how much people are donating towards other players.
I’ll be writing up a FAQ on all of this in the near future, but hopefully that gives you some idea of how it works. If not, feel free to post any clarifying questions you might have
